IDE per-prompt billing: how do you explain it to a new client?

New client asked me yesterday why the wallet shows '$0.25/prompt' and what a prompt even is. I gave a decent answer (it's a working session meter, like a taxi meter, and you see exactly what each one produced) but curious how others frame it.

I say: it's like a lawyer's timesheet but you can click every entry and see the actual work. Never had pushback after that.

I show them the activity feed from a previous project (with permission). Seeing real diffs scroll past sells it instantly.

'You'd pay me $0.25 for the question anyway, this way you also get the diff.' Usually lands a laugh and then it's fine.
